about the art of storyboarding

From presentation 4, I found some groups use storyboards when they present their designs. I think that’s a good way to clearly express thoughts. So I researched some articles to learn how to do it well.

One of them is called “Lessons from the art of storyboarding”. This article highlights some of the key ideas:

Storyboard is a great way to begin to visualize the storyboards of the contents. Storyboards are an effective, inexpensive way to develop the story. When we track them (your sketches and ideas) up on the wall, we can see the entire sequence, flow, continuity etc. Because ideas can be changes quickly and easily, storyboards work perfectly. The key is to provide minimum information that gives a dynamic and quick read of the content of the sequence.

It’s not necessary to make the drawing pretty, but it must have the meaning and feeling behind the ideas, to show our passion and vision behind that.  With the help of storyborading, we can explain the content in a simple form by cutting out the unnecessary work before entering the more complex form, and let the whole team in on what’s going on with the production.
